Sure, but don't misunderstand me. I started by saying that I understood that our countries' histories and situations are very different, and I have not been arguing that the US should have laws like NZ's. Rather, I was responding to prometheus's post saying that he's looking for another place to live, and among the requirements he listed was "no gun control". I was simply pointing out that there are places with gun control where it is not necessary to own a gun for self protection. Why exclude a place with gun control from consideration, if your concern is security? BTW, does this topic make you uncomfortable in some way?
