Exactly! JAVA is not the proper language for large projects such as accounting packages, word processors, and SQL Database engines. It is for smaller programs, applets, etc..

It is unfortunate that more people aren't aware of the proper place for this language. JAVA, C/C++, COBOL, BASIC, PL/1 (I'm dating myself), are all just languages designed to prevent a programmer from writing code in ones and zeros.

JAVA has +/- like any other language. It isn't the holy grail, and all software won't eventually get ported there. Corel wasted a lot of money learning the hard way that JAVA isn't the best language for office automation software.
