yes, peter schiff said much the same thing. he thinks there isn't enough time for an effective third party to develop. he's calling for the infiltration and take over of the republican party. just drop all the social issues like abortion and religion. the social issues are what is killing the republican party anyways.

take abortion. the government should have no say in such a personal matter. but beyond that, are the divisive issues that bring trouble to the party. the repubs are afraid to lose the religious right. but they don't consider the conservatives that they lose because of the issue. conservatives they have lost because of the abortion issue. and would they really lose the religious right? who would the religious right vote for? the pro choice liberals? i don't think so. i think that most of them would come home to the repubs eventually. at least the repubs wouldn't be pro choice. let the liberals continue to hang themselves on the issue. we should work instead to keep the government out of our lives on EVERY issue.

I hate to say it, but I agree with you. Much as I would like to see a viable third party come into being, all it would do would split the vote and ensure that Teleprompter Jesus is a two termer. I want the guy to be one and done, as Oral says.

you are probably right. But I believe that the religious right has a grip on the republican party that will continue to alienate people like me who are more secular. The republican party disregards the Constitution almost as often as the democrats.

I don't see that changing, so that leaves me in the perpetual cycle of voting against candidates and never actually voting for someone.
