i'd be studying certain kinds of assets for when the time comes to cash out, as you say.

one cannot allow the transaction to stay in the currency very long. transactions must be super quick.

buying bread will be the least of your worries in a reset. why? because any cash you once had or currency based income will be reduced in value by a factor of 60 or more.

put that up against gold holdings or some other stable value, and your worries about buying bread are both solved and instantly moot.

Gold and Silver, and other PM's are only good as currency as long as there is something around worth buying, and there are willing sellers.

In a complete mad max type blowup, it is possible that canned dog food might have more value.

One hopes, of course, that we do not get to that level.

As long as there is some civilization, something valuable to trade for, and some border guards to bribe, pm's should have use.
