The doctors are not always wrong, but the one pill and call me next year approach is obviously wrong and kills patients. The practice of medicine as a preventative is not practiced. This amounts to functional negligence that is as much the MD's fault as the patients for living wrong an eating wrong. There is a genetic component to all illness, but also a component of self destruction that can only be reversed by diligent application of lifestyle changes, diet, exercise and in some cases, often, supplementation with known substances that can effect changes. These substances are amply studied often, but the system cannot sign off on their efficacy as the studies do not go far enough to decide effectiveness. In effect your intelligence, and courage to experiment is the sole arbiter. I have found that the medications that we can find naturally are often sufficient with diligent application to make a huge difference in our health. Niacin and magnesium are probably two of the most effective anti cholesterol medications available and probably the cheapest. Rigorous attention to diet and moderate exercise form a third medicine, which I can testify has magical curative powers for high blood pressure for instance. The reason most people don't find these cures is that they don't have the diligence and application to stick with the programs.

All you have to do is do.
