I don't see alot of positives at this point

Dave,
You've been posting on this thread for over a year now. I have read some of your posts from last year and many of them recently though they were all bearish. Did you miss out on last year's runup from the low 20's to 108. It sounds as if you did. If you didn't have the foresight back then, why should we believe your Cassandric predictions now? I asked you before and will ask again. When would you consider AMAT a buy? Surely the downside risk here is negligible when compared with the upside potential. At the current price, AMAT has a TTM P/E of ~24, using a FY97 EPS of $1.30. You consider this expensive when considering the huge upgrade about to take place and the windfall AMAT should realize? During times of market panic, it can generally be said that the marke overreacts. IMHO I believe that is what happened here. I do not think it is a service to those on this thread to foment a state of panic. These are the times, almost without question, when one needs to step up to the plate and load up on these downtrodden stocks. It is amazing to me how the sentiment on this thread and in the overall market has changed so dramatically when the fundamentals have not.

Regards,

brian
