That was EXACTLY the point I was making!

Without knowing anything even remotely PRACTICAL and USEFUL, (such as even a GLIMMER what policies folks believe in or would want pursued), then we know next to nothing of any use --- especially considering the likelihood that many of the folks 'rallying-round' one of these words ("moderate, conservative, liberal") may in actual fact stand in stark opposition to others attracted to the very same word, when it gets down to the brass tacks of their actual beliefs.

the Republican party doesn't get nearly the support that conservative principles get, despite the fact that its supposed to be the conservative party.


I surmise that Conservatives are more sensitive to ideology than to party identification. Liberals have mainly latched onto the democrat party and seem to vote party line.
