Searching around leads me to sites that say it is a javascript redirect infection that will redirect your searches to sites that pay scumbags for getting advertising hits. Overlay.xul is part of Firefox and is the file they use to do this. I'd do an online scan at Symantec and if it also finds it, it should remove it or give you instructions how to manually remove it. I would also download, install, update, and run Superantispyware and Malwarebytes. Reboot and run them again.
