Great buying op, eh? I hope for me it isn't a good-bye after all!

No paralysis here, either, I love watching slow mo train wrecks. My wife says I'm a pessimist. <g> I told her in the early 90s I was an optimist. How can one be a realist nowadays and sound like an optimist? The blue pill is not an option if one wants to survive, in my opinion.

Any ideas of the great buying op, or you still waiting for something to turn up, Mr. Micawber? My near term (thru next year) money is on PMs mostly and a bit of oil. Not sure about being dragged into an abyss between now and then. I'm not keen on the idea of RE because I don't want to manage more than my own lousy piece of land and the monopoly style house sitting on it. But I may put my homeless (vagabond) parents in something in a year or two, perhaps... they may tire of wandering around by then.

I also have $AU and $CAN and some CEF and GLD and a few shorts via ETF, and a bit in inverse US Treasury.
