Like everything else.........it takes a lot of practice. If you go out a couple of times a week you eventually get very good at it. And imo it's all in aggressively controlling muscles you don't normally use. The biggest obstacle is realizing you have to be the boss of the boards, and also get in tune with your power over the movement by using those fore mentioned muscles.

People don't realize or understand their own power, and are usually pretty afraid for awhile. Then, all of a sudden they take the reins because they are sick and tired of falling.

Cross country skiing is one of the best ways in the World to get in shape. You have to overcome the pain and work through it and man.............you really do get mighty healthy and strong when you do. I'd really encourage you to do it.

I'll lend you Koty for your X-country. We skijor. I liken it to hooking myself up to an unguided missile. :)
