A couple of weeks ago, we had a transformer blow about 2 houses away from me. Sounded like a bomb going off - 3 explosions. Shook the building. Everything went dead. The telephone poles were all swaying. They emptied out the middle school across the street.

The police from two cities plus police from 6 small towns plus the county sheriffs department plus state troopers plus the feds showed up. 150 plus guns to corner a plumber who had carried a piece of pipe into the building for a repair.

Obviously she has never heard a gun. Some years back some guy in the neighborhood was cracking off a few with a rifle just prior to deer hunting. About an hour later I get this young policeman stop down to the shop and ask me if I had heard someone firing a pistol. I said no, why. He said we had reports of gun fire from the neighborhood. I said oh that, well I did hear someone firing a rifle. He looked at me and said how could you possible tell the difference. I looked at him like he was nuts and said i can't explain it to you because obviously you either can't hear or you've never heard the bark of a rifle. Turned out to be a guy with an 06 getting ready to head north for the deer season:)
