I've never heard the term zotzy, but I think I get it. :) I like it.

And you are very right re the quick changes. and that Cheeseman Park area is... zotzy. and about Colfax...

I would walk up from the Capital Hill neighborhood to place on Colfax to shoot pool. It was a couple blocks before it got more bad, but at night, it was bad enough. I would leave by midnight and be on hyper guard until I was across Colfax and a couple blocks closer to my area. When I'd go to The Netherworld, in the neighborhood and my hang out of choice mostly, I was much more comfortable and would shoot till 2am... and that from someone who wandered the SF Tenderloin.

Denver is compact in good ways. and rather lazy in ways. good ways. I didn't know a large city could have such a slow relaxed feel to it. And I could walk from Capital Hill, with its young people and pensioners living in small apts to 16th st and catch the trolley to other end and be dropped among the yuppies at the sports bars, but somehow it all blended together... at least for me.
