I wouldn't without knowing exactly what they do. If you have no google apps in the list of programs installed I think you would be safe to delete any folder named google. Doing a google search may have given you results that when clicked on downloaded the hijacks you are getting. There was news recently about some of google's sponsored links leading to malware sites. Hijackthis is the route I would take.
