Not to mention a massive fiscal disaster!

(But then Corporate Welfare tends to get that way... first you federally subsidize a dozen or so multi-millionaire sugar growers in the US, keeping domestic sugar costs at about double the world free market price... and you federally subsidize the growing of corn and corn sweetner production... then you subsidize the production of alcohol from same... then you protect it's market even more by requiring it's purchase... then you impose 100% or higher tariffs on all foreignly produced ethanol --- the better to slip even more money into the hands of the corporate farming commercial complex... then, with triple or quadruple levels of federal subsidies in place you go home and tell the folks how you are 'fighting for free markets and the little guy'! <GGG>)
