And if they have comfy chairs to sit and read in... we have a Books-a-Million here, no great shakes, but it does have an in-store coffee cafe. there's not a whole lot to do here, so that attracts a lot of young people, and they sit inside or at the outside tables and... gulp, read! I thought the coffee addition rather silly, but turns out it is a draw for youngers as a hang-out and it gets them around books.

Over the past 20+ years I accumulated more than 220 books on investing and trading. About 2 years ago I went through all of them, pulled out no more than 2 or 3, and gave the rest to my local library. All were in excellent condition. They try to sell them first and if that doesn't work they will recycle. I still read quite a lot (every day). I don't read much fiction at all and never have. I'm somewhat into history at the moment and some Christian books. Our church group passes these books around, so there isn't a lot of new buying going on.
