Doesn't have to be all one or the other. Best to start with something right in your hand though, imo.

I've resolved myself to make my largest holding those that are managed by professionals who know the players in the PM industry.
So, my largest positions are Franco Nevada, FNV.T, SLW, SCP.T; I've also held John Hathaway's Tocqueville mutual fund TGLDX in a 401K aaccount load free for years.

Frank Holmes made a guest appearance on CNBC about 20 minutes ago; he recommended FNV.T, RGLD and Rangold...
