DO NOT DELETE ... you must not have searched incorrectly.

"The hosts file consists of lines consisting of an IP address and one or more hostnames, separated by white space. Comment lines in the hosts file start with the '#' (hash) character. Blank lines are ignored."

The search parameter= hosts NO EXTENSION .... note the s on hosts

Opening that file with notepad should should entries as mentioned in the Wiki.

This file should be located in: C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts

Location is same for XP and Windows 7 ... assume is also same place for Vista.
