"only prometheus has the ability to regenerate the liver, so you may have better luck than others."...

It wasn't that lucky for Prometheus,as it meant that it got pecked out each/every day..

Seriously, the 2 Swiss funds "seem" pretty safe as-

1- There are no futures or derivatives used at all..
2- There is the ability to redeem your shares for the actual bullion -see below.

3-the gold is held by ZürcherKantonalbank, Zurich, as the custodian bank..

And there is a .5% fee charged annually, which is reasonable but could amount to a sum over many years.also, may be a sales commission.

here's the prospectus, which i have just now discovered and am reading.

74.125.47.132

i am considering this as an 401K investment/GLD substitute, and if i can get an actual certificate as an offshore type investment.

I agree 100% about having physical in hand, but this may (or may not) be a decent trading vehicle..

Just seeing if anyone has any thoughts on their program..

"For this purpose, the investment fund invests exclusively in physical gold in marketable form. The gold is held in the form of uncoined bars, each with a standard weight of 12.5 kg and purity of 995/1000 or higher. The market price is based on the purity multiplied by the weight"

here's the Payment in Kind clause

"The right to payment in kind is limited to the standard 12.5 kg gold bar with a commonly tradedpurity of 995/1000 or more. Other commonly traded units will be supplied only on request; wheresuch units are available, fabrication surcharges and other costs (minting, delivery, insurance, penalties for differences in purity, etc.) prevailing at the time of delivery will be charged to theinvestor and customary delivery times shall apply."
