<<It doesn't appear anyone has conquered the country since Genghis Khan>>

genghis only thought he accomplished the mission. subsequent events indicates he was as mistaken as bush was re mesopotamia, and as obama will prove to be in that plot of harsh real estate interestingly situated between russia, china, pakistan, and iran.

afghanistan is not a fly paper trap for al q anybody, but a roach motel for the empire.

why not instead invade somalia again? easier job and no serious neighbors.

even lebanon or syria would be easier.

best of luck to team usa. it would never be allowed to win by any of the neighbors, and can be easily defeated should it be even close to a draw by introduction of weapons slightly more sophisticated than ied and enfield rifles of wwi vintage - you know, shoulder launched this and anti-helicopter that, per charlie wilson's war

team usa will only be granted a slow and pointless attrition, ending in nothing.

the officer who quit saw the truth, and then quit, because team usa cannot handle the truth.

the fact that team usa went into afghanistan is proof that usa schools do a poor job teaching geography, history, mathe, and never mind the higher level stuff such as strategy.
