Had an interesting conversation with an old Wobbly in a Chehalis tavern, probably in the mid-sixties. Vague recollection that I thought him fascinating, though nutz, a real Communist.

He was dry. A beer at the time was a quarter, a short beer 15 cents. Wouldn't let me buy him one, figured he'd wait till his pension check came in a few days or a week. Thought it fine if the gummint stole for him, but too proud for private charity.
