Yesterday and today movements in the financial markets only re-enforce my assessment related to what I wrote in this post.

What in heaven happened that yesterday the markets roared over 2.2% or 200 points and today the same market is down over 240 points - except pure market manipulation?

What serious economic developments justified such move? -the fact that about 0.2% annualized GDP growth was reported above expectation? .... and what happen today for the market to move so wildly down - some out of the blue unexpected event that signals the end of the Western Civilization?

just in in-tray

Anyone who thinks GS gives a damn about the welfare of their clients hasn't been paying attention for about the last decade. GS tolerates having clients so long as they listen to what they tell them and bend over when requested. Taibbi is right, just one big bloodsucking squid that's managed to take over Washington decision-making for their own private gain. Nothing would make me happier than to see these sociopaths sent to Rikers island ...

Disclaimer-I was recruited by and worked for Stephen Friedman in ___ at GS when the firm had 4x partners. I don't even recognize the leviathan this firm has become, nor do I relate to my former boss, who should be serving 5-10 for illegal insider trading.
