If your 'quickly' has a temporal sense then I have to beg to differ, but if you mean to say do it in such a way that a 2nd cut is never needed then I can't agree more. IMHO, they should take the time and examine their business model. What is the new model going forward? And, how many employees such a model needs and can realistically support. One fell swoop cut to that number accepting all the associated risks is the best. Most of the times companies, not unlike us when we sit on a losing stock, hope that the situation is not as bad as it really is. Bleeding slowly and good people start to leave. -Al
