Recommended, and then turned out an affiliate of II was selling while II was recommending! I love this sort of manipulation as a sign of an over-hyped stock. Gee, if Emerald initiated coverage with a Buy, I'd take that as an immediate sign to short!

Excuse me, but the last I checked BTIM (recommended at 17) is now trading at 74 (24 5/8 post split). I think this is not a good definition of death. As for the buy recommendation 'while' selling I think the timeline will actually show that the buy was reiterated when BTIM was about 40 and just a few days later it was in the high 60's where profits on some shares were taken and some were shorted to hedge the gains.

Other II 'kiss of death' stocks I have traded include QLGC and THRX. If I had listened better on THRX I would have made 700% on that one. Had to settle for a measly 360%.
