"Brumar is so gung ho America I wanted to see if he could find ten things to criticize America."

That's naive on your part. We are most critical of the things we love most because we care about making them the best they can be and we concern ourselves with conserving their goodness. Things we don't care about we usually have little regard for one way or another. And I see Brumar expressing his criticisms regularly, in addition to his penchant for confronting liberalism.

"Remember......I didn't ask you.....you simply volunteered your list."

Indeed, but that doesn't answer the second part of my question. Is carrying on a civil discussion over topics, such as I listed, simply no longer on the menu for you?

If discussion is not a functional characteristic of thread discourse, how would you promote its venue under current circumstance?
