David,

I'm looking at NeuroShell Trader. Borrowed a friends copy for now.
Very encouraging results so far. Needs end of day data.

URL is wardsystems.com.

Let me know what you think please.

David, Neural networks are a bit of a con, there are few programs out there which "learn" by their own losses and wins. I went through some of them about a year ago... which admittedly puts me in the 12th Century the way this industry is developing. There are many "black box" computer programs/hardware configurations that one can track down. Mostly they auto-trade in-out very quickly for quick slices of OEX and futures contracts when the odds exceed a variable threshold. They often fail on dramatic days like we've had recently when action get well out of norm... yet the concept is exciting... that one could turn on a money slicing machine (that withdraws from market participation on extreme volatility), which you then pick up at the end of the year and dump out the profits.

Jim

Has anyone here experimented with a Neural Network in devising a trading system?

Hello there namesake. Yes, I am currently looking over the NeuroShell Trader software from Ward Systems. It is a standalone neural network with import and export cababilities with TradeStation and SuperCharts. No final opinions yet. Any insights welcome.

You might also want to talk to LastShadow on the Nasdaq Gems thread. He has a neural that he had developed on his own and uses everyday.
