It was an amazing event. West Germans who were in Berlin at the time said that East Germans just started coming over the border. The West Germans were totally perplexed......they didn't understand what was happening. No one cold believe it was over......Berlin was no longer divided! At the time I considered getting on a plane and going. Nothing stopping me but I didn't... and have regretted it ever since. Lesson learned; if you have a chance to witness history take it. Life is short and mostly mundane so fill it with remarkable stuff when you get a chance. Yes, I wish I had been there too. A lot of Germans picked up and went to Berlin to see the wall come down.
