USD will go JPY and be the carry trade currency. Good for emrging markets.

That was two years ago or so.

This week I was about to make a new prediction.
It was supposed to be along these lines:

What if there was a pull and capital stayed put?

Now I can call it the Mother of All Decouplings.

My reasoning was that:

Émerging markets had passed the test posed by 2008.

Capital that went back, (2008), went to plug holes. It was not a flight to quality.

Whomever flew out, has been re-entering back at a great cost.

Next time there's a shake out. Capital stay put. No loss of appetite for risk, That because the risk is elsewhere.

Why people who need to save, would choose to keep their money in a place where ZIRP?
