Jim, re your post including this: "Just a reminder AAPL's Board is business savy and newly formulated . To sell the company instead of pursuing a CEO is out of character."

I think that a board full of busy, successful people would welcome the sale of Apple to an established company with a strategic reason to buy Apple. They then would have "saved" the company [well, the brand, anyway], they would get out of the situation with honor, and also be able to get on with the more lucrative parts of their lives.

Absent a sale, it will be tough to find a CEO who can tell Jobs to keep out of the way, and control the midlevel managers at Apple. Pretty soon Chainsaw Al will be available, and that I would enjoy watching.
