Does anybody know, if the big 1400 nov 25 option block was a buy or a sell? If it was a buy, run for cover! I noticed, that somebody bought massivly puts always before bad news. Is uptick a sale? Or irrelevant?

I own a sig. coms position at avg. 45. Painful loss right now, after nice gains...

Coms is going through some problems. NYTime reported some accounting aggessiveness surrounding their merger. All legal, but aggressive in sweeping Robot past/current problems under rug. Robot is generally weak. Modem sales are weak.

On other hand, Coms seems to be making some real progress with its high end switching products.

Robot/coms is well positioned to offer whatever the new high speed internet product is. They have market positon, software abitlity, etc. Prob. buy some chips somewhere else. They have cable modem presence and are moving more there. Look for them to cream MOT, maybe buy chip sets from them...

I think their next quarter will also be weak. So does the market. Its in the price. Even at these market levels. Who knows when it will start moving strongly up. The bad buzz right now is not the networkers, but the PC area. OK, Coms straddles the two. But I wouldn't (and am not) selling now. Points will be lost on the upside.

I imagine the lowest coms will go and stay for more than a panic two or three days is high thirties. Could go back up to fifties quite qickly. Its a cheap co. in one of the highest sustainable/reliably growing tech areas. All overvaluation has been thoroughly knocked out of it. Only issue is next quarter. Surprises to the upside.

My thoughst.
