Agreed.

I think that with the higher national speed limits & the fact that more & more people have been pushing the upper limits tolerated by police have made driving more demanding than it was in the past. When large numbers of drivers are cruising in close to 80 mph mixed in with an increasing population of older drivers who are driving slower, you need to have your head on a swivel & stay focused far more than in the past.

I find I'm not enjoying the nice views you could get when there's a brake in the action & you have a few hundred yards of road to yourself because they are so few & far between now. It's starting to be more of a chore than an enjoyable experience.

I remember years ago it would take me a few moments to adjust from driving hundreds of highway miles to the much slower pace of off highway driving. Now when I get off the highway it seems like everything is in slow motion long after I get off the highway.
