CBO answered one question. The article substituted an answer to a different question. You claim that the discrepancy between answers is deceptive on the part of CBO. Silly them for answering the question they were asked. Shame on the challenger for pretending the questions were the same to make a political point.

I can understand your missing the differentiation. That's likely what the author intended and confirmation bias makes it easy for any of us to do. But once I pointed it out to you, and even with your knowing that I'm on your side of the issue, you dig in. It's fascinating how fluidly you do that.

I've finally gotten around to reading "Mistakes Were Made." It's about how and why people avoid dealing with being wrong, a subject that has long been of interest to me. SI offers so many vivid examples. Your insistence that the House bill said something entirely different from what it actually and demonstrably said is a classic. If I were ever writing a book on the subject, I would choose that as the perfect example.
