Sort of like when Obama makes a speech -- if there are misstatements in it (as is so frequent), it is the writer who made the mistake. If a writer made a mistake, fine. But let's not blow it out of proportion. As to Dan Rather, I don't remember the details but I seem to recall he reported as true conclusions that were based on falsified documents, something along those lines.
