Lin,

I am a SAP developer who has worked for two companies. One company
used Oracle for their database, and the other used Informix. I believe
Sybase is also an alternative. As long as it is a relational database,
any product will work well with SAP.

Lin,

it's IMPOSSIBLE to do any kinds of half decent comparisons w/o attending at least some training. As far as DBs, SAP implements on Oracle, Informix, NT, and I think even AS/400 and DB2. As far as which one is most suitable, it's up to the customer.
