We get the government we deserve that is for sure.

I heard an interview in Vegas with the head of MGM/Mirage that was quite interesting. He talked of all the people that he laid off, can't remember the number but it was big. He said those people won't be coming back, we've learned to live without them. I saw this first hand at the Venetian. I would say crowds are almost back to normal. Much, much busier then April when we were last there. But the closed down check in desks in the Venenzia tower are still closed. They did not bring back the cocktail waitresses. In other words I saw first hand that this is definitely going to be a jobless recovery.

He also spoke of business waiting to see what new taxes and regulations they are going to have to deal with. He said there is no doubt that much higher taxes are coming so they are going to do nothing until they see. Also commented that he obviously can't leave Vegas but every CEO he talks with that could move production or whatever out of country is laying the groundwork to do so.

Atlas is shrugging.
