If you wait just a while longer to build your home-area network (or do it today and experience slightly lower speeds) you could use plastic optical fibers for the backbone wiring. POF is a 'snap' to install, and I mean that literally (see: bit.ly ), and achieve super-gigabit speeds. FAC ------
