I see all the open wounds and scars of the private sector, but to me the government is clearly a terminal cancer patient. Seriously, have you looked the government obligations and seen how high taxes are going to have to be raised, how much spending is going to have to be cut, and how much money is going to have to be printed just to make good on the current promises? It makes me glad I'm 50 and might be gone before all hell breaks loose. If I had children and grandchildren, I'd have to pack my bags and head to the far east to ensure they had a good life. I admire my grandparents for having the courage to come here, but I have no desire to do that myself. Besides, as a matter of principle, I think it's intrinsically immoral to tax citizens under penalty of jail and force them to participate in programs they know are bankrupt and that they know they can't get a good return on. I also think that's a terrible idea because sooner or later someone that you don't like is going to be in power using your money to do things you hate (like starting wars, bailing out Wall St, paying corporate welfare, etc...). I have no problem with the socialization of some activities. That's what insurance is. However, if the private sector can't handle something, I'd prefer the greater freedom that doing it at the state level would provide. That way I could vote with my feet if incompetents took over my state. It would also take money printing off the table. We all know the dirty truth is that those in favor of expanding government want to limit freedom because greater freedom reduces their power and ability to impose their wills on everyone.
