Disgusting. Anti-Americanism in one of the country's formerly premier magazine. The enemy within, situated on the west side of NYC. Bet he's on Charlie Rose next week.

Bast's question is the way the press dose it. He ask this question and gives the answer that he wants to hear within the question.

Political candidates are aware of this technique in interviews in campaigns.

Writers on this board are acutely aware of how questions attempt to manipulate the answer.

"In a case of trying to find liberal angles on a tragic shooting, switching the focus of blame and judgment from the mass murderer to the military, Newsweek's Andrew Bast asked on the magazine's blog The Human Condition: "Is Fort Hood A Harbinger? Nidal Malik Hasan May Be A Symptom of a Military On the Brink.""

Bloggers should take heed of this kind of manipulation as they write-------and recognize that their pens must be as sharp as the sword in the war waged with words such as Andrew Bast is doing.
