Keeping the stock markets rolling by keeping speculating hedge funds alive puts a downward pressure on employment because now the CEOs have to show some earnings growth to justify lofty valuations. Since the consumer would not help the top line growth by buying unwanted goods, the next path of least resistance is to control bottom line by firing people. Had the markets stayed bound in the lower range the pressure to show earnings would be not as high since everyone is in the same situation. I am not complaining about high valuations but it is not going to help most of the consumers.

I'M'A DAYTRADER!!!! Bought NLST this morning @ 2.21 sold this after for 4.14 for one cheapy SUV...How long has THIS been goin on?
