Not really, that amendment is the same restriction that has been bandied about for almost 40 years now. "The amendment, written by Rep. Bart Stupak, D-Mich., would bar the new government insurance plan from covering abortions, except in cases of rape, incest, or where the life of the mother is in danger. The Democrats' original legislation would have allowed the government plan to cover abortions." The left always offers this as a sop to those who value life. This is a not-so-veiled attempt to get the whole Obamacare package passed. With this amendment and the other options that mention abortion, we are still going to be subsidizing the killing of our own children-------either via the taxes on the government policies or via the Private Insurance. There will be no choice in not subsidizing these by Americans. Pelosi's package if it includes that amendment or any similar must go on record as the Pelosi/Obama baby killing package. Again Pelosi and Obama and the left want to control every facet of our lives. Real Change is needed. mj
