I got GREAT information for all of us to enjoy this weekend. I talked to Janine Zanellie at IR department of Alliance this afternoon. I asked her several critical questions about the coming Dec qtrs. To my surprise, I got very straight forward answers to almost all my questions. The following is the Q & A.

Q: let me start by asking you how are we doing so far this qtr?
A: We are on the track! Although DRAM market is still very weak, thank GOD we have 4 product lines, and we are selling other products well as we planed. We are expecting an increase on both our revenue and profit margin this qtr.

Q: Revenue increase comparing to last year or previous qtr?
A: previous qtr. We are expecting our revenue in the low 30 million range this qtr.

Q: Since DRAM price has dipped to around $4, I heard you stopped shipping DRAM late last qtr. Are you still selling DRAM right now?
A: Thank GOD we have 4 product lines, and some of them are doing very well (profit margin) for us. We has took $6mil charge to get rid of the old DRAM products, and now we are selling the new products well as we planed.

Q: What about USC's contribution? Are we expecting an increase again in this qtr?
A: Yes! Our shares of USC has increased from 14% in last qtr to 19% this qtr, and USC is doing very well. So we are expecting an increase of the contribution again this qtr.

Q: Even not counting the increased %, do we still expect more contribution? For example, in Q2 we had 5c, in Q3 we had 7c, this qtr we should get more for the same percentage?
A: Yes! Plus the extra percentage we now own, we are doing very well from USC's contribution.

Q: How is the booking and backlog for this qtr? I heard analysts said that we had good September backlog and booking. Is it still the case?
A: Yes! Some of the Sep. qtr orders have been delayed and placed in this qtr. We had somewhat slow Summer season, but since then things are picking up!

A: generally speaking, we are doing well. We are very well on track! Our plan is to diversify to sell higher margin products. After a month into this qtr, looks like we will meet our goal!

-----------

Now you have it! I was surpriced how straight forward she was! I sent an e-mail to her using the email address listed in ALSC's WWW site yesterday. She responded to me today and invited me to call her. I called her during lunch time and left a message. She returned my phone call early this afternoon.

I'd like to encourage everyone to call her. She is very straight forward, and very friendly toward shareholders and their questions. I'm planning to call her again late Nov. to find out what they will have done in Nov. At this point, my feeling is that Alliance is doing extremely well. If in the next two months Alliance can keep the same trend, then we will definitely have a profitable qtr!

Good luck everyone!

Hi Jim, Good to hear from you. Will you ever tell me more about your system? If you are buying ALSC, you'll make out very well I think.

Jim,

Off Topic.

I'd like to know more about your thoughts on PCTL. Why you think it is forming a bottom at this time? My wife used to work in PictureTel. She said the people there were truly smart people. The problem is Intel's involvement in VideoConference business has taken away the floor where PCTL sits. I'm still closely following the stock, since my wife still have couple grand options under water. To be honest with you, the things are not looking any better from here, and PCTL is losing key development people big time (including my wife? Just kidding). On the other hand, the uncertainty on the NetConference has made the future of PCTL even un certain. So I don't know when PCTL will be a good buy again.

Take care.
