S&P UPGRADES OPINION ON SHARES OF MEMC ELECTRONIC MATERIALS TO BUY FROM HOLD

Our upgrade reflects valuation, as shares now trade more than 30% below our 12-month target price of $17, which we are keeping. We think WFR will be able to raise prices of semiconductor wafers in '10 and expect solar wafer prices to stabilize or decline at a considerably slower pace than recently, aiding margins. We think WFR's intention to vertically integrate, with its announced intent to acquire SunEdison, will provide exposure to the solar end-market where margins are more attractive, in our view. We note the balance sheet shows over $5 per share in cash and minimal debt.

I bought back into WFR, if nothing else volatility will keep me afloat and downside is relatively limited.
