That is, of course, the drug coverage. I have not followed that part the bill closely but all that I have heard about it is that the doughnut hole will be eliminated which is a good thing.

As for the Advantage plans, it is really what I expected. Only about 20% of the eligible take advantage of them anyway. I suspect that is because many do not realize how much more than Medicare they offer - at the same price.

Earlier this year when I attended a town hall meeting, the woman who was the speaker for a "single payer system" made several statements that indicated to me that she was not familiar with the benefits offered by the Advantage plans. The general population also has very little knowledge of what is available. An example of that is the number of uninsured who qualify for Medicaid.

Unfortunately, far too many people are unaware - and unconcerned - of what is in the House Bill and just leave it up to their "representatives" to know what is best for them.
