You're doing what you do best, which is to put words into my mouth.

Just because the military tries too hard to be "politically correct" doesn't mean they will be very good at it. Of course I expect them to fail at it. It's just not possible.

Best thing officers can do is to drill it into the heads of the enlistees. No soldier should be marginalized based on religion, ethnicity, etc. Give a little history of Japanese-American soldiers fighting in WWII, for example, even while their relatives had to live in the internment camps.

Then tell the enlistees that if anyone is caught saying the word "towelhead," he or she is going scrub toilets for the next seven weekends.
