College football comments. I loved the upsets this week. 1. Notre Dame lost to Navy. I had to give the drunken Irish some respect, as they never gave up. But Navy has had an interesting year. If they had beaten Ohio State, and they came awfully close, it would have been VERY interesting. The loss to Pitt doesn't look that bad. O.K., losing to Temple kind of sucked. Oh, well, I was in the Army, so who cares? A fun game to watch.

2. Northwestern beat Iowa. Iowa has played above it talent all year. When the quarterback went out, you could feel them deflate. I like both teams, but I don't see the Hogeyes beating the Bugeyes.

3. Stanford beat Oregon. I wasn't surprised at all. Stanford is capable of beating anyone. And capable of being mauled by anyone.

It was a good week for the Academic Top 20, with Northwestern and Stanford scoring victories over football schools.
