I was shocked when our friend talked about his feelings regarding being called up. He said these things during the rebuilding phase after the initial Iraq invasion. My first comment was to the effect that he pledged to protect and defend the country and it was his duty to go (if called up.) He just kept repeating himself.........."no way", "no way." I'm kind of his substitute Mom since he lost his real mother to breast cancer several years ago, and I think I set him straight on the matter. <gg>
