Thanks Frank, but I remain uncertain about the 333. What was the 18*2 + 9?

My guess on the whole cyberspace scourge is that people have charged into it exploring what it all means by trying it out by creating and trying all possibilities [like normal evolutionary processes, and quantum computing, and wave functions before they collapse into reality]. Curiosity, identity and belonging are powerful drivers not to mention mountains of money swooshing around in cyberspace.

Another big driver is power and that's the province of governments so we can expect Big Brother to take over and make people mere nodes in the network serving the elite at the control centre. The process can reasonably be cast as Good versus Evil and it's interesting that Google long ago adopted the "Don't be evil" slogan which must be very tempting for the Devil to use against them.

I have previously made the argument that cyberspace is the long-awaited Second Coming. It seems obvious that Go- has more means of Coming than a bloke in a toga, sandals, with long hair and a beard. Originally, the conflict was individuals in a worldwide node to node network of brotherly love and Christian principles versus the Roman Empire's totalitarian suppression of individuals.

Ironically, the Catholic church took up residence right there in Rome in the Vatican and the Roman Empire faded and failed and there's nothing left of it but silly Berlusconi chasing young women and gaggles of tourists gawping at Pont du Gard and various structures around the empire.

The Second Coming is obviously the cyberspace realm which is nothing less than the development of the next evolutionary step in consciousness and intelligence. Reptiles led to mammals and mammals led to chimps and chimps led to us and we lead to, ta da, extra somatic intelligence and consciousness [symbiotic with human wet chemistry brain power for a while].

In social terms, individual dinosaurs led to social mammals then intellectually co-operative chimps in territorial hunter gatherer conquering alpha male tribal dominance hierarchies which led to similar human tribal social structures but with created wealth and communication, passed down knowledge, specialisation and abstract thinking. Such barbarian human societies ruled everywhere. Then along came the first run at individuals versus the tribe which was crucified and thrown to the lions in the Colosseum. But the ideology gained currency in a few countries with the British Empire the top exponent of it until the USA spun off into an even larger effort at freedom for individuals. But that experiment is fading as individuals are again subsumed into the state.

Now, the Second Coming. It's no wonder that hordes of individuals are swarming cyberspace, escaping from the 3D depradations of modern Roman Emperors running governments. There is no doubt that government megalomaniacs will battle to crush their attempts at freedom. For a start, the government will get control via Net Neutrality, fibre network construction and control ... Good vs Evil.

Hmmm, 333 = half of 666. That's ominous.
