That looks like it would do the job.

I built my wooden tray after getting disgusted with a $25 plastic job that I got at Walmart. It didn't work and was a piece of junk. I took it back.

It's hard on laptops to put them on cushions and couches like somebody I know does. They can't cool properly.

I paid extra to get a mouse for my netbook. Many optical mouses need some sort of textured pattern in order to work properly, but this one can operate on almost anything. One of my folding tables has a white surface and it works on that just fine.
