Martin Luther King wasn't an (R) - that's a wingnut myth. He expressed no party affiliation. He certainly wouldn't be one today, and neither would Lincoln.

His father was a lifelong (R) until he supported Jimmy Carter.

Abe Lincoln and MLK were liberals. They fought for change just like liberals always do. Embracing social evolution toward a more just society.
