<< The charge is a non-cash charge>>

False.

Again - from the 10-Q

[The Company expects to record a one-time charge of approximately $4,000,000 in the fourth quarter of 1997 relating to expenses incurred with the transaction.]

This is $4M that Yahoo spent to do this transaction (probably in legal fees, etc.). That's cash.

<<411 has no advertising revenue to speak of,>>

Seems silly to pay $90 million in stock for it then...doesn't it?

Didn't you just finish telling us that 411 was "fertile advertising ground"?

IMO, Yahoo made a terrible mistake doing this acquisition. 411 does not have any of your cherished "brand recognition", and it is bleeding money.

I don't think you get it.....................................

At today's closing prices Yahoo! was valued at 2.196 Billion $$$$$

Excite was valued at 384 Million $$$$$

And on a quarterly basis there is 3 Million difference in Revenue.

And if you compare Excite 9/30/97 to Yahoo!'s 6/30/97.........Excite is ahead? That my friend is ONE HELL OF A PREMIUM to pay for 90 days lead in this segment!

So what you are telling me as an Excite shareholder.... is 90 days is worth nearly 2 Billion $$$$$..........no wonder Yahoo! is getting DOWN GRADED and Excite still holds a madjority STRONG BUY Rec's with targets at $28 to $33! Believe me it'll take the analysts a few months to figure this out....in the mean time they've got to get their customers out of it.........lest they don't have any.

Correct me if I'm wrong Jumper...........but didn't I come in hear and call the top on this thing at about $57.00.........based on the idiot who's never been in the market and wanted to buy it because he'd heard about it.

You can either get out now............and collect you 2 Billion $$$$$ premium....or go down in ashes...............

LOOK AT THE ENTIRE SEGMENT & DON'T FALL IN LOVE.......sex is cheap $35.00 on any street corner..........you don't need any more of this.........cause it ain't going anywhere.
