I think he's dancing around making a "scientific case" where
1.) there is none (that I've seen).
2.) he probably doesn't know enough science (at least from his lack of discussion)... like "Greg or e" most of his info probably comes off wacko websites and when shown patently false, he runs back to try and figure it out.
3.) He likes to claim "tilt" whenever possible by involking "logical fallacy" claims as to 'structure of argument' as soon as sleding gets tough.

The typical argument that aborting a fertilized egg is "murder" by religious leaders is that it has a 'soul'. He should stick to that.
